What the documents mean for you

Peach can deny you access for any reason and stops new trades once you pass the no-KYC limits. Raising a dispute hands Peach your chat, payment details and ID. It keeps hashed device and payment data for 10 years; banned users' hashes are never deleted.

KYC level 2/4 · Rare KYC

Basic trading works without identity checks ("No KYC where permitted by local law"), but Peach runs a formal KYC process that you must complete to lift the registration-free trading limits, and in a dispute it can oblige you to hand over ID and account statements. There is no routine identity check at sign-up and no automated transaction scoring that triggers one, so this sits at rare, situation-driven KYC.

KYC comes up in two situations: when you want to trade above the registration-free limits of CHF 1,000 per day (CHF 1,000 per month for peer-to-peer payment methods) and CHF 100,000 per year, and when a dispute mediator asks you for proof. For the volume KYC you give identification documents and a recorded interview, which Peach stores in an encrypted Proton Drive; in a dispute you may be obliged to supply account statements, payment details and ID. If you do not verify, you keep your funds but cannot make any new trades once you hit the limit.

Warnings

Seller controls the escrow right now

Peach states that its escrow currently gives it no control at all and the seller fully controls the bitcoin in escrow. If the seller behaves badly, your only route is Peach's dispute mediation, whose decision is final.

Verification unlocks higher trading

You can trade without identifying yourself only up to CHF 1,000 per day (CHF 1,000 per month for peer-to-peer payment methods) and CHF 100,000 per year. Going beyond that requires Peach's KYC process, including ID documents and a recorded interview.

Data kept for a decade

Peach says it cannot delete most of your account information on request and removes it only 10 years after the request, citing FINMA rules. Hashes of device and payment data belonging to banned users are kept indefinitely.

Blocked and unsupported regions

Peach blocks IPs and app store availability for the US, China, Iran, North Korea and a list of other countries, plus UN/OFAC/EU-sanctioned territories. It does not market in the EU/EEA and may restrict EU/EEA access at any time.

Trading cap without KYCverification
